God reigns. Over the nations, over creation, over kings, over angels, over Satan, and over our salvation. The Scriptures show again and again that the sovereignty of God is not merely a doctrine — it is a source of life, peace, and confidence for His people.
Let’s look at how God’s will and God’s purposes triumph in every realm: natural, spiritual and human. The One who created all things also holds all things together and guides history toward His glory.
How does this transform us?
God is the ultimate authority and controller of all that exists and everything is under His will or permission. When we focus on His sovereignty, we will seek first our relationship with God and His will, rather than following our own desires and plans. This perspective leads to a life in submission to God’s guidance and a letting go of self-centeredness and focus on ourselves.
Think of a challenging situation in life where you focused on your own ability to overcome and forgot about God’s sovereignty. How did that affect you? How would the embracing of God’s sovereignty have made a difference for you in that situation?
Focus on God. In your heart express your love for Him and thank Him for His sovereignty and control of your life. Don’t ask Him for anything and don’t use the words “I” or “me.” Just speak out words of worship and praise to Him and about Him alone!
